Role Summary
As a Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support based on each individual’s needs, preferences and care plan.
The role may include personal care, medication support, meal preparation, companionship, household assistance and support with accessing the community. You will help individuals remain as independent as possible while ensuring they feel safe, respected and supported.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care and support.
- Assist with personal care, dressing, hygiene and continence care where required.
- Support individuals with medication in accordance with their care plan and your training.
- Prepare meals and support good nutrition and hydration.
- Assist with mobility and safe movement around the home.
- Provide companionship and emotional reassurance.
- Support individuals with appointments, activities and accessing the community.
- Help with light household tasks, including cleaning, laundry and shopping.
- Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and company procedures.
- Maintain clear, accurate and timely care records.
- Report changes, concerns or safeguarding issues promptly.
- Communicate professionally with families, colleagues and healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- A caring, respectful and dependable approach.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, trustworthy and flexible.
- Previous health or social care experience is desirable but not essential.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to complete the required DBS process.
- Willingness to complete mandatory training and the Care Certificate where required.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle may be beneficial for some placements.
